Guangzhou Opens Exclusive Coach Terminal for Hong Kong and Macao

Life of Guangzhou

The first coach terminal in Guangzhou operating only Hong Kong and Macao shuttle buses opened in Dashatou on Dec. 19.

The terminal is located in the ferry pier near Ersha Island and Haiyin Bridge. Currently it has three round trips – and will have eight trips after Jan. 5, 2013 - every day to the Austin Station near Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. As for Macao, there are six single-journey shifts to Gongbei Port. Both lines have no intermediate stops.

Before the Dashatou Terminus opened, all the shuttle buses bound for Hong Kong and Macao stop at hotels, shopping malls or on the roadside. These are not necessarily very safe or convenient for the passengers and also spend a lot of time picking up extra passengers on the way. The new lines are expected to save time, predicting that it will only take three hours to arrive in Hong Kong.

At the moment, the last bus from Hong Kong departs at 8pm, but the operator says it will extend the service to 10pm in the near future. It also provides left baggage service in the Hong Kong Terminus.
